Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 fresh banana (sliced)
  • 0.5 cup fresh berries (such as blueberries or strawberries)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (such as almonds or walnuts)
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, combine the rolled oats, water, milk, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

Once it starts to boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until the oats are tender and the mixture reaches your desired consistency. Stir frequently to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the honey (or maple syrup) to sweeten the oatmeal.

Divide the cooked oatmeal into two bowls.

Step 6

Top each bowl with sliced banana, fresh berries, chopped nuts, and chia seeds (if using).

Step 7

Serve warm and enjoy your Sweet Morning Oatmeal!
