Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 0.75 cup Grape jelly
  • 0.75 cup Barbecue sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking the meatballs, or set a large skillet over medium heat if cooking on the stovetop.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well using your hands or a spatula until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 3

Roll the mixture into small, golf-ball-sized meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get approximately 24 meatballs.

Step 4

If baking, place the meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. If cooking on the stovetop, heat the vegetable oil in the skillet and brown the meatballs on all sides, cooking for about 8-10 minutes until fully cooked through.

Step 5

While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the sauce. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the grape jelly and barbecue sauce. Stir until smooth and heated through, about 5 minutes.

Step 6

Add the cooked meatballs to the saucepan with the sauce. Gently toss to coat the meatballs evenly in the sweet sauce.

Step 7

Allow the meatballs to simmer in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

Step 8

Transfer the sweet meatballs to a serving dish and garnish with fresh herbs, if desired. Serve warm with toothpicks for easy handling.
