Ingredients

  • 240 ml Whole milk
  • 50 g Unsalted butter
  • 50 g Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 400 g Bread flour
  • 2 tbsp Dry milk powder
  • 2.25 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 1 Large egg

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk over low heat until warm (not hot to the touch, about 38-40°C). Remove from heat and set aside.

Cut the unsalted butter into small pieces and add it to the saucepan to melt into the milk. Stir gently until combined.

In the bread machine pan, add the milk and butter mixture first.

Next, add the granulated sugar, salt, and large egg to the pan.

Layer the bread flour and dry milk powder on top of the wet ingredients. Ensure the flour covers the liquids completely.

Create a small well in the flour and add the active dry yeast to the center. Take care that the yeast does not come into contact with the liquids at this stage.

Place the bread machine pan into the machine and select the 'Sweet Bread' setting, or equivalent. Choose the desired crust color (light, medium, or dark) and start the cycle.
