Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups Powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch Salt

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add the softened unsalted butter.

Step 2

Using a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes, or until it is light, fluffy, and creamy.

Step 3

Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed to prevent it from puffing out of the bowl. Once incorporated, increase the speed to medium and continue to beat until smooth.

Step 4

Add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the bowl. Beat on medium-high speed for an additional 3-4 minutes, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula.

Step 5

If the frosting is too thick, add a teaspoon of heavy cream at a time until it reaches the desired consistency. If it is too thin, add a bit more powdered sugar, a tablespoon at a time.

Step 6

Once the frosting is fluffy, creamy, and smooth, it is ready to be used. Spread or pipe it onto your baked goods as desired.
