Ingredients

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse and pat dry the salmon fillets with paper towels.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, black pepper, and salt to make the marinade.

Step 3

Place the salmon fillets in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes.

Step 4

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F). Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Remove the salmon fillets from the marinade and reserve the excess marinade for basting. Place the fillets skin-side down on the preheated grill.

Step 6

Grill the salmon for 4-5 minutes per side, basting occasionally with the reserved marinade, until the fish flakes easily with a fork and develops a slightly caramelized crust.

Step 7

Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a minute or two.

Step 8

Garnish the grilled salmon with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired, and serve hot with your favorite sides.
