Ingredients

  • 250 grams All-purpose flour
  • 150 grams Granulated sugar
  • 115 grams Unsalted butter
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 60 grams Sliced almonds
  • 15 grams Pearled sugar (optional, for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cardamom.

Step 3

In another mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer or a sturdy whisk.

Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
