Ingredients

  • 2 racks Baby back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1.5 cups Ketchup
  • 0.5 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 0.25 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid smoke

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

Step 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the rib racks for better seasoning penetration and tenderness.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create a spice rub.

Step 4

Brush both sides of the rib racks lightly with olive oil, then generously massage the spice rub into the meat.

Step 5

Wrap each rack tightly in aluminum foil to retain moisture and place them on a baking sheet.

Step 6

Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and begins to pull away from the bone.

Step 7

While the ribs bake, prepare the barbecue sauce: In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, and liquid smoke. Stir well and simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Set aside.

Step 8

Once the ribs are done baking, carefully remove them from the foil and discard any accumulated liquid.

Step 9

Preheat your grill to medium heat. Brush the ribs generously with the barbecue sauce and place them on the grill.

Step 10

Grill the ribs for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with more barbecue sauce, until they develop a caramelized, slightly charred exterior.

Step 11

Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Step 12

Serve hot with your favorite side dishes and extra barbecue sauce on the side. Enjoy!
