Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 0.5 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons, finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 cheddar cheese slices
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty about 1 inch thick.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat.

Step 4

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are fully cooked (internal temperature of 160°F). If using cheese, place a slice of cheddar on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking, and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

Step 5

Toast the burger buns lightly in the skillet or on a grill for about 1-2 minutes, if desired.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by spreading a layer of mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom half of each bun.

Step 7

Place a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on each bun, followed by the cooked pork patty with melted cheese.

Step 8

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
