Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning mix
  • 0.5 cups Water
  • 4 cups Tortilla chips
  • 2 cups Shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 can Black beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 cup Salsa
  • 0.5 cups Sour cream
  • 0.25 cups Sliced black olives (optional)
  • 0.25 cups Chopped green onions
  • 2 tbsp Diced jalapeños (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

Step 3

Stir in the taco seasoning mix and 0.5 cups of water. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is thickened. Remove from heat.

Step 4

In a 9x13-inch baking dish, layer 2 cups of tortilla chips evenly across the bottom.

Step 5

Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the chips, followed by 1 cup of shredded Mexican blend cheese.

Step 6

Add a layer of black beans and half of the salsa. Repeat the layers: tortilla chips, ground beef mixture, remaining cheese, and salsa.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Top with dollops of sour cream, sliced black olives (if using), chopped green onions, and diced jalapeños (if using).

Step 9

Serve warm and enjoy!
