Ingredients

  • 16 oz Elbow macaroni
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter

  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 3 cups Sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 4 oz Cream cheese (softened and cubed)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Ground mustard powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil or melted butter (optional, for breadcrumbs)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly to create a smooth roux.
