Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin steak
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 carrots
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger
  • 3 green onions
  • 1 tsp chili sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 4 servings cooked white rice or noodles

Directions

Step 1

Thinly slice the beef sirloin steak against the grain into bite-sized strips. Set aside.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Stir to combine into a smooth sauce and set aside.

Step 3

Slice the red bell pepper into thin strips, peel and julienne the carrots, chop the broccoli florets into bite-sized pieces, mince the garlic cloves, and finely grate the fresh ginger. Slice the green onions into small rounds, separating the white and green parts.

Step 4

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until just browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Toss in the white parts of the green onions, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 6

Add the broccoli, carrots, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Step 7

Return the beef to the skillet along with the reserved sauce mixture. Stir well to coat all the ingredients in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.

Step 8

If desired, stir in chili sauce for an extra kick of heat.

Step 9

Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with the green parts of the green onions and sesame seeds.

Step 10

Serve the Super Beef Skillet Stir hot over cooked white rice or noodles. Enjoy!
