Ingredients

  • 300 grams Ground pork
  • 150 grams Shrimp (peeled, deveined, and chopped)
  • 30 pieces Wonton wrappers (round or square)
  • 50 grams Water chestnuts (finely chopped)
  • 2 stalks Green onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 piece Egg (lightly beaten)
  • 30 grams Carrot (grated, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped shrimp, water chestnuts, green onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, cornstarch, and beaten egg. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Step 2

Place one wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Add about 1 tablespoon of the filling to the center. Gently pleat the edges of the wrapper upwards around the filling, leaving the top exposed. Press lightly to seal and shape into a small cup.

Step 3

Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 4

Prepare a steamer by lining it with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking. Arrange the dumplings upright in the steamer, leaving some space between each dumpling.

Step 5

Top each dumpling with a small pinch of grated carrot for garnish.

Step 6

Bring a pot of water to a boil and place the steamer over it. Cover the steamer and steam the dumplings for 12-15 minutes or until the filling is fully cooked.

Step 7

Remove the dumplings from the steamer and serve hot with soy sauce, chili oil, or your favorite dipping sauce.
