Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dried plums (prunes)
  • 1 cup Dried apricots
  • 1 cup Dried figs
  • 1 cup Almonds
  • 1 cup Walnuts
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar

Directions

Step 1

In a food processor, combine the dried plums, dried apricots, and dried figs. Pulse until the fruits are finely chopped and begin to stick together, but do not over-process into a paste.

Step 2

Add the almonds and walnuts to the food processor and pulse until the nuts are coarsely chopped and incorporated into the fruit mixture.

Step 3

Transfer the fruit and nut mixture to a large mixing bowl. Add the honey, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly with a spoon or your hands until well combined.

Step 4

Using damp hands, roll the mixture into small 1-inch balls. Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 5

Pour the granulated sugar into a shallow bowl. Roll each sugar plum in the sugar to coat the outside evenly.

Step 6

Once coated, place the sugar plums in an airtight container or decorative gift box, separating layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Step 7

Store the sugar plums in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or at room temperature for several days. They are best enjoyed at room temperature.

Step 8

Wrap or pack in festive boxes or tins for gift giving, and include a handwritten note or label to make it extra special!
