Ingredients

  • 4 medium Boiled potatoes
  • 1 cup Green peas
  • 2 tablespoons Chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 small Green chili (finely chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 0.5 cup Tamarind chutney (sugar-free, homemade or store-bought)
  • 0.5 cup Green chutney (made with mint, coriander, and lemon juice)
  • 1 cup Plain yogurt (optional, whisked)
  • 0.5 cup Sev
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium Tomato (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Pomegranate seeds

Directions

Step 1

Peel and mash the boiled potatoes in a large bowl.

Step 2

Blanch the green peas for 2-3 minutes in boiling water, then mash them lightly and add to the potatoes.

Step 3

Add chickpea flour, cumin powder, coriander powder, chaat masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, green chili, and chopped coriander leaves to the potato mixture. Mix well to form a smooth dough.

Step 4

Divide the mixture into small equal portions and shape them into flat round tikkis (patties).

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Cook the tikkis in batches until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Arrange the tikkis on a serving plate. Drizzle with sugar-free tamarind chutney and green chutney.
