Wash the strawberries thoroughly and remove the stems. Slice them in half.
Juice the lemons until you have about 3/4 cup of fresh lemon juice. Strain the juice to remove any seeds and pulp, if desired.
In a blender, combine the strawberries and 1 cup of cold water. Blend until smooth.
Pour the strawberry puree through a fine mesh strainer over a pitcher to remove the pulp and seeds, if desired. Use a spatula to help press the liquid through.
Add the fresh lemon juice to the pitcher, followed by the remaining 4 cups of cold water.
