Ingredients

  • 300 grams Water spinach (kangkong)
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 piece Fresh red chili (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Water

Directions

Step 1

Wash the water spinach thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris and drain in a colander. Trim the tough ends of the stems and cut the remaining stems and leaves into 2-3 inch pieces.

Step 2

Peel and finely chop the garlic. If using chili, slice it thinly and set aside.

Step 3

Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.

Step 4

Once the oil is hot, add the chopped garlic and sliced chili (if using). Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.

Raise the heat to high and add the water spinach to the wok. Stir-fry quickly for 1-2 minutes, tossing frequently to ensure even cooking.
