Ingredients

  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Black tea leaves
  • 1 inch Fresh ginger
  • 4 pods Green cardamom pods
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 4 whole Cloves
  • 4 whole Black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0 to taste Stevia or monk fruit sweetener (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Peel and slice the fresh ginger into thin slices.

Step 2

Crush the cardamom pods, cloves, and peppercorns slightly using a mortar and pestle to release their flavors.

Step 3

In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

Step 4

Add the sliced ginger, crushed cardamom, cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon stick, and fennel seeds to the boiling water. Allow it to simmer on medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until the water is infused with the aroma of the spices.

Add the black tea leaves to the saucepan and continue to simmer for another 2 minutes.
