Ingredients

  • 500 grams Beef sirloin or ribeye
  • 60 ml Soy sauce
  • 1 medium Pear or apple, grated
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 2 stalks Green onions, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Stevia or monk fruit sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil

Directions

Step 1

Place the beef in the freezer for about 15 minutes to make it easier to slice thinly. Once firm, use a sharp knife to cut the beef into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, grated pear or apple, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, chopped green onions, black pepper, sesame seeds, and your choice of sweetener (Stevia or monk fruit). Mix well to create the marinade.

Step 3

Add the sliced beef to the marinade bowl, ensuring each piece is well-coated with the mixture. Cover the bowl and let the beef marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. For best results, marinate for 24 hours.

Step 4

Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

Step 5

Once the skillet is hot, add the marinated beef slices in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side, or until the edges start to brown and the beef sizzles.

Step 6

Flip the beef slices and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes or until cooked through. Do this in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.

Step 7

Serve the sugar-free Korean BBQ hot, garnished with additional sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Enjoy with traditional sides like lettuce wraps, kimchi, or steamed rice.
