Ingredients

  • 240 g Whole Wheat Flour
  • 7 g Instant Yeast
  • 5 g Salt
  • 180 ml Milk, warm
  • 30 ml Olive Oil
  • 1 Egg, lightly beaten
  • 200 g Cooked Curry Filling
  • 100 g Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 10 g Xylitol Sweetener
  • 50 g Carrot, peeled and grated
  • 50 g Apple, peeled and diced
  • 500 ml Olive Oil for frying

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, instant yeast, and salt.

Step 2

Add the warm milk and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough begins to form.

Step 3

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and allow to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 5

Prepare the curry filling by stirring the grated carrot and diced apple into the cooked curry to add natural sweetness and additional flavor. Mix well and set aside.

Step 6

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal portions.

Step 7

Flatten each portion of dough with your hands and spoon about 25g of the curry filling into the center.

Step 8

Gently fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal completely, forming an oval shape.

Step 9

Dip each filled dough piece into the beaten egg, then roll it in panko breadcrumbs until well-coated.

Step 10

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the olive oil to 170°C (340°F).

Step 11

Fry the curry bread in batches until golden and crispy, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.

Step 12

Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 13

Allow to cool slightly before serving to enjoy the full flavors of this sugar-free treat.
