Ingredients

  • 50 grams Fresh mint leaves
  • 50 grams Fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 small Green chili
  • 120 grams Plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1 small Garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black salt
  • 2 tablespoons Water

Directions

Step 1

Thoroughly rinse the fresh mint and coriander leaves under cold running water to remove any dirt. Shake off the excess water or pat them dry with a clean towel.

Step 2

Remove any thick stems from the mint and coriander leaves as they can be bitter, leaving only the tender leaves and fine stems.

Step 3

In a blender or food processor, combine the mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chili, garlic clove, and ginger.

Step 4

Add the plain yogurt, lemon juice, cumin powder, salt, and black salt to the blender.

Step 5

Pour in the water to help blend the mixture smoothly.

Step 6

Blend the mixture on high speed until it becomes a smooth, homogenous sauce. Stop occasionally to scrape down the sides of the blender, ensuring all ingredients are incorporated.

Step 7

Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lemon juice to taste.

Step 8

Once blended smoothly, transfer the mint sauce to a serving bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 9

Serve cold alongside your favorite Indian dishes, such as samosas, kebabs, or as a condiment with rice and curry.
