Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Pitted dates
  • 0.5 cups Boiling water
  • 0.5 cups Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.75 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 0.5 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cups Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cups Chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

Place the pitted dates in a bowl and pour the boiling water over them. Let the dates soak for about 10 minutes to soften.

After soaking, puree the dates and water in a blender or food processor until smooth.
