Ingredients

  • 240 grams Whole wheat flour
  • 7 grams Instant dry yeast
  • 100 grams Unsalted butter
  • 5 grams Salt
  • 120 milliliters Whole milk
  • 5 milliliters Vanilla extract
  • 40 grams Erythritol sweetener
  • 1 large Egg
  • 60 grams Sugar-free chocolate chips
  • 0 as needed Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and instant dry yeast.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, melt 60 grams of the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and add salt, milk, and vanilla extract. Allow the mixture to cool until lukewarm.

Step 3

Add the cooled butter mixture to the flour-yeast mixture along with erythritol sweetener and the egg. Knead the dough in the bowl until it comes together.

Step 4

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a clean, lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.

On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle approximately 15x20 cm.

Cut the remaining 40 grams of butter into thin slices and lay them in the center of the dough.
