Ingredients

  • 4 large Apples
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the lemon juice and water to make a dipping solution for the apples. This will prevent the apples from browning too quickly.

Step 3

Wash and core the apples. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the apples into thin rounds about 1/8 inch thick.

Step 4

Dip each apple slice into the lemon-water solution and then lay them flat on the prepared baking sheets. Make sure the slices are in a single layer and not overlapping.

Sprinkle the ground cinnamon evenly over the apple slices. You can adjust the amount of cinnamon according to your taste.

Place the baking sheets in the oven and bake for 1 hour. Then flip each apple slice over and continue baking for another 1 hour or until the apple slices are completely dry and crisp.

After baking, turn off the oven and let the apple chips cool inside the closed oven for an additional 30 minutes. This will help them become even crispier.

Once cooled, transfer the apple chips to an airtight container. They can be stored at room temperature for up to one week.
