Ingredients

  • 300 g Rolled oats
  • 100 g Butter
  • 100 g Honey
  • 100 g Dried mixed fruits (e.g., raisins, apricots, cranberries)
  • 50 g Chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts)
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp Salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 20cm x 20cm (8-inch square) baking tin with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large saucepan, melt the butter gently over low heat.

Step 3

Once the butter is melted, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the honey, making sure they are well combined.

Step 4

Add the rolled oats, dried mixed fruits, chopped nuts, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt to the saucepan. Mix everything until the dry ingredients are evenly coated with the butter and honey mixture.

Step 5

Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking tin. Press down firmly with the back of a spoon or spatula to ensure it is tightly packed and levelled evenly.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Step 7

Remove from the oven and allow the flapjacks to cool completely in the tin on a wire rack.

Step 8

Once cooled, lift the flapjacks out of the tin using the parchment paper and cut into 12 even squares or bars.

Step 9

Store the flapjacks in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
