Ingredients

  • 250 g Whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp Instant yeast
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 180 ml Unsweetened almond milk
  • 50 g Butter, melted
  • 1 large Egg
  • 50 g Natural sweetener (such as erythritol)
  • 1.5 tbsp Ground cinnamon
  • 30 g Butter, softened
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, instant yeast, and salt. Stir to mix well.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, gently warm the almond milk until lukewarm. Remove from heat, then add the melted butter.

Step 3

Beat the egg in a separate bowl, then add to the milk and butter mixture, stirring to combine.

Pour the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing with a spatula until a dough begins to form. Knead the dough by hand for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free area for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
