Ingredients

  • 500 grams Cassava
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Peel the cassava root and slice it into very thin rounds, ideally about 1 to 2 mm thick, using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife.

Step 3

Place the cassava slices in a large bowl and rinse under cold water to remove some of the starch. Drain well and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, salt, paprika, and ground black pepper.

Step 5

Add the dried cassava slices to the bowl with the seasoned oil and toss well to ensure they are evenly coated.

Spread the cassava slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they do not overlap, or they will not crisp up properly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until the edges start to brown and the chips are crispy, flipping once halfway through for even cooking.
