Ingredients

  • 500 grams Bottle gourd (lauki)
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 1 medium Green chili
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Peel the bottle gourd and cut it into small cubes. Set aside.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion, tomato, and green chili. Grate the ginger and mince the garlic.

Step 3

Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chili. Cook for 1-2 minutes until aromatic.

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
