Place the rolled oats in a large bowl and cover them with enough water to submerge. Let them soak for about 30 minutes to soften.
Drain the soaked oats in a fine mesh strainer and rinse them under cold running water.
In a blender, combine the rinsed oats with 4 cups of fresh water. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and milky, about 1-2 minutes.
