Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf French loaf
  • 0.5 pounds Ground beef
  • 0.5 pounds Italian sausage, casing removed
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, diced
  • 1 medium Bell pepper, diced
  • 0.75 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 0.25 cups Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 0.5 cups Marinara sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Cut the top third off the French loaf lengthwise and hollow out the inside, leaving approximately 1/2-inch of bread around the edges. Reserve the hollowed bread for another use, such as making breadcrumbs.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and Italian sausage, breaking them up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Step 4

Add the garlic, onion, and bell pepper to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 5

Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir in the parsley, marinara sauce, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.

Step 6

Fill the hollowed-out French loaf with the cooked filling, spreading it evenly.

Step 7

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of the stuffed loaf.

Step 8

Place the stuffed loaf on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and allow the stuffed loaf to cool for about 5 minutes before slicing into portions.

Step 10

Serve warm and enjoy!
