Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef, turkey, or chicken
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 large carrot, julienned
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili paste (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional for garnish)
  • 4 cups cooked rice or noodles

Directions

Step 1

Heat a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.

Step 2

Add the ground meat to the pan, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Once cooked, transfer the meat to a plate and set aside.

Step 3

In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of sesame oil.

Step 4

Add minced garlic and ginger to the pan, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds or until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the sliced bell pepper, broccoli florets, julienned carrot, and snap peas to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are just tender but still crisp.

Step 6

Return the cooked ground meat to the pan with the vegetables.

Step 7

Pour in the soy sauce and add salt, black pepper, and sriracha or chili paste if using. Stir everything together until well combined.

Step 8

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through and meld the flavors together.

Step 9

Remove pan from heat and stir in the sliced green onions.

Step 10

Serve the stir-fried vegetables and meat over warm rice or noodles. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
