Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta (small shapes like rotini, shells, or macaroni)
  • 2 5-ounce cans canned tuna in water, drained
  • 1 cup celery, finely diced
  • 0.5 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup Greek yogurt (plain)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside and let cool completely.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, diced celery, chopped red onion, and thawed peas. Use a fork to break apart any large chunks of tuna.

Step 3

In a smaller bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.

Step 4

Pour the dressing over the tuna and vegetable mixture. Toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.

Step 5

Add the cooled pasta to the bowl and fold it into the salad mixture, ensuring the pasta is well-coated with the dressing.

Step 6

Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or lemon juice as needed.

Step 7

Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salad for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 8

Before serving, stir the salad again and garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired. Serve chilled.
