Ingredients

  • 500 g ground pork
  • 50 g panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 pieces burger buns
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves
  • 8 slices sliced tomato
  • 4 tablespoons mayo (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, panko breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 2

Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick. Set aside.

Step 3

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, maple syrup, and sriracha (if using) to create the glaze.

Step 4

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Add the pork patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, or until browned.

Step 5

Flip the patties and brush the cooked side generously with the soy-maple glaze. Cook the second side for another 4-5 minutes.

Step 6

Flip the patties one more time, brush the second side with the glaze, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, ensuring the patties are fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

Step 7

Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for 2-3 minutes.

Step 8

Lightly toast the burger buns, if desired.

Step 9

Assemble the burgers by spreading mayo (if using) on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with a lettuce leaf, sliced tomato, and a sticky soy and maple pork patty. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy!
