Ingredients

  • 240 ml Milk (whole, 2%, or non-dairy alternative)

Directions

Step 1

Pour the milk into a small saucepan or a heatproof steaming pitcher.

Step 2

Place the saucepan over medium-low heat or, if using a steaming wand, ensure it's ready to use.

Step 3

If heating on the stove, stir frequently with a whisk to prevent scalding and to start creating small bubbles for froth.

Step 4

If using a steaming wand, insert the tip of the wand into the milk, just below the surface, and turn on the steam. Hold at an angle and move in small circles to create a whirlpool effect.

Step 5

Heat until the milk reaches a temperature of about 150°F (65°C). Be careful not to overheat as this can scald the milk.

Step 6

If heated on the stove, once warmed, whisk vigorously to create a light froth.

Step 7

Pour into your mug or use as a base for lattes, hot chocolate, or other beverages. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
