Ingredients

  • 500 grams Fresh mixed greens (such as kale, spinach, and chard)
  • 1 whole Lemon
  • 2 whole Garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the mixed greens thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Shake off the excess water and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

Peel and slice the garlic cloves thinly.

Step 3

Cut the lemon in half. Juice one half of the lemon and slice the other half into thin rounds for garnish.

In a large pot with a steamer insert, bring 1 cup of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium. Add the mixed greens to the steamer basket, cover the pot, and steam for about 5-7 minutes or until the greens are tender but still vibrant in color.
