Ingredients

  • 2 8-ounce cuts Sirloin steak
  • 2 medium Russet potatoes
  • 8 ounces Button mushrooms
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon (to taste) Salt
  • 1 teaspoon (to taste) Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped Fresh parsley (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Step 1: Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. While the skillet is heating, season the sirloin steaks on both sides with a generous amount of salt and pepper.

Step 2

Step 2: Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare or cook to your desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate covered loosely with foil.

Step 3

Step 3: While the steaks are resting, peel and grate the russet potatoes using a box grater. Squeeze out excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.

Step 4

Step 4: In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Press the grated potatoes into an even layer in the skillet to form hash browns. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side until golden and crispy, then flip and cook another 4-5 minutes on the other side. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

Step 5

Step 5: Wipe out the skillet, then melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced button mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are golden brown and tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 6

Step 6: Plate the steaks alongside the golden hash browns and sautéed mushrooms. Optionally, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy your steakhouse-style dinner.
