Ingredients

  • 1 lb ribeye steak
  • 16 oz gnocchi
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 14 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 0.5 cup fresh basil, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Season the ribeye steak with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside to rest.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter and reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and red chili flakes (if using). Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 6

While the sauce cooks, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the gnocchi according to package instructions (usually 2-3 minutes). Drain and set aside.

Step 7

Slice the rested steak into bite-sized strips.

Step 8

Stir the cooked gnocchi and baby spinach into the tomato-cream sauce. Add the sliced steak and mix until well combined.

Step 9

Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and the remaining 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden on top.

Step 11

Remove from the oven and let the bake rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
