Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6-8 oz each) Beef tenderloin steaks
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves (minced) Garlic
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons (chopped) Fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons (chopped) Fresh basil

Directions

Step 1

Remove the beef tenderloin steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes before cooking. Season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot and shimmering, add the steaks. Cook each steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust cooking time to your preferred doneness). Remove the steaks from the skillet, place them on a plate, and tent loosely with foil to rest.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter to the same skillet. Once the butter has melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Step 4

Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes, letting it thicken slightly.

Step 5

Stir in the chopped parsley and basil, reserving a small amount for garnish. Cook for another 1-2 minutes. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with additional salt and black pepper if needed.

Step 6

Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Allow the steaks to warm in the sauce for 1-2 minutes.

Step 7

Serve the steaks immediately, generously topped with the creamy herb sauce. Garnish with reserved parsley and basil, and serve with your choice of sides such as roasted potatoes or steamed vegetables.
