Ingredients

  • 750 ml red wine (preferably dry)
  • 240 ml orange juice
  • 120 ml brandy
  • 60 ml simple syrup
  • 1 large orange
  • 1 medium lemon
  • 1 medium lime
  • 1 medium green apple
  • 150 grams strawberries
  • 240 ml sparkling water or club soda
  • 20 pieces ice cubes

Directions

Step 1

1. Wash and dry the orange, lemon, lime, green apple, and strawberries.

Step 2

2. Slice the orange, lemon, and lime into thin rounds. Core the green apple and cut it into thin wedges. Hull the strawberries and slice them in halves or quarters, depending on their size.

Step 3

3. In a large pitcher, combine the sliced fruits: orange rounds, lemon rounds, lime rounds, apple wedges, and strawberries.

Step 4

4. Pour the red wine, orange juice, and brandy into the pitcher over the fruits.

Step 5

5. Add the simple syrup to adjust sweetness as desired, and stir everything well to combine.

Step 6

6. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 to 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld. Overnight steeping is even better, if possible.

Step 7

7. Before serving, add ice cubes to the pitcher to chill the sangria further. Pour in the sparkling water or club soda to add a light, bubbly finish.

Step 8

8. Serve the sangria in glasses filled with ice, ensuring to include some fruit slices in each glass for a beautiful presentation.
