Ingredients

  • 12 sticks String cheese
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1.5 cups Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 cups Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Unwrap the string cheese sticks and cut them in half to create 24 shorter sticks. Place them on a tray and freeze for at least 20 minutes to prevent melting during frying.

Step 2

Set up a breading station: Place the flour in one shallow dish. In a second shallow dish, beat the eggs with the milk. In a third shallow dish, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

Remove the cheese sticks from the freezer. Dredge one stick in the flour, ensuring it is well coated. Dip it into the egg mixture, letting any excess drip off, then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating for a thicker crust. Place the coated stick on a clean plate. Repeat this process with the remaining cheese sticks.

Step 4

Once all the cheese sticks are breaded, return the plate to the freezer for another 15-20 minutes to set the breading.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pot to 350°F (175°C). Make sure the oil is deep enough to fully submerge the cheese sticks.

Step 6

Fry the cheese sticks in small batches for 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Step 7

Serve Stacey's Cheese Sticks warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara, ranch, or honey mustard.
