Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cups mini marshmallows
  • 10 drops green food coloring
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup St. Patrick's Day sprinkles

Directions

Step 1

Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray and set aside.

Step 2

In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

Step 3

Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter and stir constantly until fully melted and smooth.

Step 4

Stir in the green food coloring a few drops at a time, adjusting the color to your preference for a festive St. Patrick's Day hue.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly fold in the Rice Krispies cereal, mixing until the cereal is evenly coated with the green marshmallow mixture.

Step 6

Gently fold in half of the St. Patrick's Day sprinkles, reserving the other half for decoration.

Step 7

Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and use a greased spatula or wax paper to press it down evenly.

Step 8

Sprinkle the remaining St. Patrick's Day sprinkles over the top, pressing lightly to help them stick.

Step 9

Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature, about 30 minutes.

Step 10

Once set, cut into 12 squares or desired shapes and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
