Ingredients

  • 500 grams Venison steak (or beef steak as a substitute)
  • 12 pieces Bacon slices
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha (optional for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • 12 pieces Toothpicks or small skewers

Directions

Step 1

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2

2. Pat the venison steak dry with paper towels, then cut it into bite-sized cubes, roughly 1.5 inches each.

Step 3

3. In a mixing bowl, toss the venison cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to coat evenly.

Step 4

4. Wrap each seasoned venison cube with a slice of bacon, securing the wrap with a toothpick or skewer.

Step 5

5. Arrange the bacon-wrapped venison on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each piece to allow for even cooking.

Step 6

6. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and sriracha (if using) to create the glaze.

Step 7

7. Use a basting brush to lightly coat the bacon-wrapped venison with the honey-soy glaze.

Step 8

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, flip each piece, and brush with more glaze.

Step 9

9. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the venison is cooked through (internal temperature of 135°F for medium-rare).

Step 10

10. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or as is!
