Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 100 grams Fresh spinach
  • 150 grams Mushrooms
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 large Egg
  • 50 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon Dried thyme

Directions

Step 1

Wash the spinach and chop it roughly. Clean the mushrooms and finely dice them. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic cloves.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and any liquid has evaporated.

Step 4

Stir in the spinach and cook for another 2-3 minutes until wilted. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.

Step 5

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, sautéed spinach and mushroom mixture, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, paprika, and thyme. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 6

Shape the mixture into 8 equal-sized patties (about 1.5 cm thick each).

Step 7

Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are browned and fully cooked through.

Step 8

Remove the patties from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Step 9

Serve the patties warm on their own, with a salad, or as part of a burger. Enjoy!
