Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made or homemade, 9-inch Pie crust
  • 4 cups, loosely packed Fresh spinach
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1.5 cups Shredded Gouda cheese
  • 0.5 cups, chopped Pecans
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cups Whole milk
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoons Ground nutmeg

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If using a store-bought pie crust, roll it out into a 9-inch pie pan. If using homemade, prepare the crust and press it into the pan. Crimp the edges for a decorative touch.

Step 2

Blind bake the crust: Line the crust with parchment paper or aluminum foil, then fill with pie weights, dried beans, or uncooked rice. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the weights and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until just lightly golden. Remove from oven and set aside.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the fresh spinach and sauté until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly, then squeeze out any excess liquid from the spinach with a paper towel.

Step 4

Evenly distribute the sautéed spinach, shredded Gouda cheese, and chopped pecans across the bottom of the prepared pie crust.

Step 5

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.

Step 6

Pour the egg mixture over the spinach, Gouda, and pecans in the crust, ensuring everything is evenly distributed.

Step 7

Place the quiche on the center rack of the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is lightly golden. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.

Step 8

Remove the quiche from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. This allows the custard to fully set and makes slicing easier.

Step 9

Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your Spinach Gouda Pecan Quiche with a side salad or fresh fruit for a balanced meal.
