Ingredients

  • 6 pieces large eggs
  • 0.333 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 0.333 cup celery, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, finely diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon paprika (optional, for garnish)
  • 4 pieces lettuce leaves (optional, for serving)
  • 4 slices bread or crackers (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Place the eggs in a medium saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Once boiling, cover the pot, turn the heat off, and let the eggs sit for 10 minutes.

Step 3

After 10 minutes, transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water and let them cool for 5 minutes. Peel the eggs and set them aside.

Step 4

In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

Step 5

Chop the peeled eggs into small, bite-sized pieces and add them to the bowl with the dressing.

Step 6

Add the celery, red onion, sweet pickle relish, fresh chives, and dill to the mixture. Gently fold everything together until evenly combined.

Step 7

Taste the salad and adjust seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or lemon juice if needed.

Step 8

For serving, spoon the egg salad onto lettuce leaves, bread, or crackers for a refreshing presentation. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of paprika on top as garnish.

Step 9

Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
