Ingredients

  • 200 grams Sushi-grade tuna
  • 2 tablespoons Japanese mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 3 cups Cooked sushi rice
  • 4 sheets Nori (seaweed sheets)
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon White sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 whole Avocado, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat the mixture in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or until the sugar dissolves. Stir it into the cooked sushi rice to season it. Let it cool to room temperature.

Step 2

Dice the sushi-grade tuna into small cubes. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tuna with Japanese mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, and soy sauce. Mix well to evenly coat the tuna. Adjust the amount of sriracha if you prefer more or less spice.

Step 3

Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat with the rough side facing up. Wet your hands with a small bowl of water to prevent the rice from sticking.

Step 4

Spread an even layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving about 2 cm (1 inch) of space at the top edge. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds over the rice.

Flip the nori and rice over so the rice is facing down and the nori side is facing up. Place a layer of the spicy tuna mixture and a few slices of avocado lengthwise across the center of the nori.

Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the sushi tightly from the bottom edge, applying gentle pressure to shape the roll. Seal the edge with a bit of water if necessary.

Using a sharp knife, slice the roll into 8 equal pieces. Wipe the knife with a damp cloth between cuts to ensure clean slices.

Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients to create additional rolls.
