Ingredients

  • 3 pounds pork baby back ribs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.75 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Step 2

Prepare the ribs by removing the membrane from the back of each rack for better flavor absorption. Pat dry with paper towels.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.

Step 4

Generously coat the ribs with the dry rub on all sides, pressing the mixture into the meat.

Step 5

Wrap each rack of ribs in aluminum foil, sealing tightly, and place them on a baking sheet.

Step 6

Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.

Step 7

While the ribs are baking, prepare the spicy-sweet glaze. In a medium saucepan, combine the honey, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and hot sauce.

Step 8

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, and cook for 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 9

Once the ribs are done baking, carefully unwrap them and discard the foil. Preheat your grill or broiler to medium-high heat.

Step 10

Brush both sides of the ribs generously with the glaze and grill or broil for 5–7 minutes per side, or until the glaze is caramelized and slightly charred.

Step 11

Remove the ribs from the grill or broiler and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into portions.

Step 12

Serve hot with additional glaze on the side for dipping, and enjoy!
