Ingredients

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes. Sauté for 1 minute, or until fragrant.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, sriracha sauce, lime juice, and cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create the sauce mixture.

Step 5

Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

Step 6

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly in the chile sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes to heat through.

Step 7

Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Step 8

Serve the spicy shrimp over steamed rice, noodles, or alongside a fresh vegetable stir-fry.
