Ingredients

  • 500 grams fresh okra
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 finely chopped green chili
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped fresh cilantro

Directions

Step 1

Wash the okra thoroughly under running water and pat dry with a towel. Trim the ends and slice each okra into 1/2-inch thick pieces.

Step 2

Heat the vegetable oil in a large, non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Once the oil is hot, add the mustard seeds. When they begin to pop, add the cumin seeds and fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
