Ingredients

  • 2 racks (approximately 4 pounds) Pork ribs
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.25 cup Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks Green onions (sliced for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Step 2

Prepare the ribs by removing the membrane from the underside (if not already done). Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub this mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.

Step 4

Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours until tender.

Step 5

While the ribs are baking, prepare the glaze. In a medium saucepan, combine the gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the glaze thickens.

Step 6

After 2.5 hours of baking, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap them. Preheat your grill to medium-high or set your oven to broil.

Step 7

Brush the ribs generously with the glaze on both sides. Place them on the grill or a baking sheet under the broiler.

Step 8

Grill or broil the ribs for 5-7 minutes per side, basting with more glaze as needed. Watch closely to prevent burning.

Step 9

Once caramelized, remove the ribs from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Step 10

Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving. Serve with extra glaze on the side if desired.
