  • 500 grams Ground beef or lamb
  • 50 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 pieces Green chili, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 0.5 teaspoons Red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 200 grams Tomato puree
  • 100 milliliters Heavy cream or coconut milk
  • 200 milliliters Water

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, green chili, chopped cilantro, ground cumin, ground coriander, garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt.

Step 2

Mix the ingredients thoroughly with clean hands or a spoon until evenly combined.

Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a plate or tray.

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, searing them on all sides until browned. Remove the browned meatballs and set them aside.
